Uršula Hill Educational Trail

A nature themed trail especially suitable for families with children

The Uršula Educational Trail is an easy and informative path, 2.8 kilometers long, ideal for families with children. Together you can explore the wonders of nature, away from traffic.
 

Trail Description

The trail leads from the Church of St. Giles in Šentilj hamlet (Dramlje) to the old sexton’s house, now a mountain lodge of the Dramlje Mountaineering Society next to the Church of St. Ursula at the top of the hill Uršula nad Dramljami, where a beautiful view opens over the Celje Basin and Kozjansko region.

The starting point is at an elevation of 304 m, and the hilltop at 464 m. You can return to the starting point along the same path or by road. Along the way, in an ecologically important area, you will encounter the protected butterfly (the large blue), many animal and plant species, water sources, and the geological features of the area.

Mountain Lodge on Uršula hill

The sexton’s house, converted into a mountain lodge, is a cultural monument preserving the former appearance of rural architectural heritage. Inside, you will find a large room with a traditional bread oven, a black kitchen, and a cellar with a ridge press and stone. The mountain lodge is open only during events organized by the local mountaineering society.
